Acknowledgment of Country

“Kaya wanjoo. (Hello and welcome to our space)

We’d like to acknowledge the Noongar people of the Whadjuk boodja that cared for and are connected to this place where we meet and learn together, South Padbury Primary School.

For us Whadjuk boodja is a special place because it is where we live and play together, where we accept everyone’s differences, enjoy the crystal ocean and where we feel safe and happy.

We thank our families and the school for teaching us about the importance of looking after our land, and about the history and connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have to country and culture. We hope South Padbury will always appreciate the land and how the Noongar people cared for and respected it and continue to build community on country. ”

Inspired by the 2025 Student Councillors (Billy Oldfield, Jax Haney, Emma Sharp, Olive Perrie, Charlotte James, Jaxon Wilson, Harrison Frost, Finn Bignall)
